On the ear post base is dichroic glass, popularly known as chameleon glass, which changes colour in certain light conditions.
There are two combinations of these glasses: clear opal and dichroic glass, both fired in the kiln.
When fired, it is compacted to a thickness of 6 mm.
The ear post is made with stainless steel, a very strong and non-corrosive metal that consists of iron, nickel, chromium, carbon, and other alloying elements.
